Class 3B

Hello!

My name is Katie Brown and I have been teaching for 5 years. I trained to be a teacher at Roehampton University and started my teaching experience at Beulah Junior School in Thornton Heath, Croydon.

I love to teach Literacy, Numeracy and PSHE. Before I started working at Hillbrook, Numeracy was a real struggle for me – but thanks to the staff and children it has now become a favourite subject of mine. Helping the children to learn about themselves, and encouraging children to strive for the best that they can be is something I feel very passionate about. So much so, that I am currently training with Roehampton University again to become a specialist in PSHE.

Teaching is my passion and I strive to do the best I can for every child who I meet. I enjoy working at Hillbrook as it is a wonderful, diverse community that recognises individual successes as well as group achievements. Children are always at the forefront of every staff member’s mind and this makes a safe, positive learning environment for every child.

In my spare time, I enjoy horse riding, the cinema, reading any books I can get my hands on and visiting my family in Kent. I enjoy travelling and have recently come back from an amazing trip to Chile and Argentina.
